Paying for Court Costs

If you owe any money to the court or you have been fined they you need to make sure that you pay the bills right away. First, your bill is within fifteen days of your trail date unless you are told otherwise or a given another payment schedule. If you do not pay your bills your drivers license will be suspended. In the event that you do not pay your bills and your license is suspended you can be convicted of a class one misdemeanor and wind up back in court, so pay the bill in the first place.

If you are brought to trial after you have caught driving without a license you may be given the option to complete driving school or a community service program which will reduce your charge. However, this will not erase the fees that you owe from the first trail. You will still need to pay them within fifteen days after your last court date.

If is very simple to pay the bills so make sure that you get it done quickly so there are no repercussions. You will bring the payment to General District Court. This is the place where your case was held so you should have no trouble finding it. However, if you get confused, the address is located on your ticket.

You also have the option of mailing the payment but make sure you leave enough time for mailing. You will mail the payment to the address on the ticket. Make sure that your name is on the money order or check. You also need to enclose a copy of your ticket so that the recorders know what bill is being paid.
